Everyone is different and experiences life's dilemmas, challenges, and losses in their own way. Therapy provides a safe, non-judgemental space to talk about issues that are causing you confusion, stress or making you feel sad. These could include low mood, anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement, identity issues, family challenges, trouble communicating, disordered eating or feelings of self-harm and suicide.
Sometimes we reach a point where we have used up all of our resources but our thoughts continue in the same unhelpful patterns. Talking with a psychotherapist can help to give a voice to these thoughts and support you to develop new coping strategies.
Psychotherapy provides a space for you to talk about yourself and your relationships without fear of being misunderstood or criticised.

I’m a Systemic Psychotherapist which means I'm interested in talking about relationships and how we experience them as children and as adults.
I have a particular interest in helping people overcome challenges and move forward in their lives.
Psychotherapy provides a space for you to talk about yourself and your relationships. In our day-to-day lives, we often don’t find this opportunity — we might worry about taking up too much time from friends or family, or fear they will be shocked or concerned by what we say.
You may worry that others could relate your words to themselves and feel hurt or become judgemental. In therapy, you can share your thoughts and feelings openly, without fear of being misunderstood or criticised.
During my career, I have helped many people deal with troubling issues. Sometimes they arrive with a clear goal for therapy; other times, they bring a tangle of emotions and concerns that have simply become too much to bear.

Having therapy together as a family helps you to express your thoughts and feelings in a safe environment, allowing you to explore how those closest to you are feeling and experiencing the issues and challenges that have brought you to therapy.
In my years of working with families, I've explored a wide range of issues and supported those families to understand each other's perspectives, build on the strengths of individuals within the family unit, and move forward together by making often small, but meaningful, changes.
If you think that coming to therapy as a family - no matter the size or age range within your family unit - please contact me.
I understand how upsetting it is when a young person in your life is not happy. They may be struggling with friendships or bullying at school, be having feelings of self-harm or suicide, or be finding it challenging to deal with a difficult life event.
You may feel that talking about these issues as a family would be helpful, or perhaps the young person would prefer to discuss their thoughts and feelings privately. My approach is gentle and collaborative, and if the young person wants to see me on their own, I will only encourage them to include their parents/guardians in the work if I feel it is appropriate and would be beneficial.
I have extensive experience of working within the NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). I am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy, the Association for Family and Systemic Psychotherapy, and I am DBS checked.
